Why the price rise?
Microsoft have explained their reasoning in a blog post. The essence is:
- Continuous innovation: Over the past five years, Microsoft has significantly enhanced Dynamics 365 products, introducing new features and functionality without a price rise.
- AI Integration: The price rise supports investment in cutting-edge technology, particularly in AI features like Copilot.
- Regular updates: Microsoft commits to delivering twice-yearly updates across Dynamics 365 products, making sure users have access to the latest tools and features.
What has improved in Dynamics over the last 5 years?
- AI is here and it’s helping you to write emails, score leads, recap on meetings and summarise documents and opportunities.
- Using Dynamics is now much faster – getting around records, editing views and dashboards are much easier in the current version of Dynamics
- Mobile phone apps have been introduced to save time for traveling workers like sales agents and field workers
- Search has been completely reworked and finding your data is simpler and more accurate
- Much stronger Outlook and Teams integration
- Dynamics Sales now provides sellers with more timely and relevant customer information, to help salespeople better understand their customers’ needs and preferences
- It’s now far more flexible and can be customised to fit user and company preferences
Didn’t we have a price increase in April 2023?
In April 23 Microsoft harmonised their global currency pricing to be consistent with their USD pricing, this meant a 9% increase for GBP customers.

I have a current subscription, when will my price rise?
All your Dynamics licences have either a 1 month, 1 year or 3 year subscription period. When your subscription is renewed (after 1 October 2024), your price will increase to the new prices in the table above.
Please get in touch with us if you’re not sure when your renewal date is.
How can we avoid the increase?
If you have a monthly commitment subscription
You should consider moving to a 1 (or even 3) year contract before October 2024. That way you’ll put off the price rise and get the cheaper annual licence price
If you’re considering buying a new Dynamics licence
It might be wise to buy your licence before October 2024 to lock in the lower prices for 1 or 3 years. Get in touch and we’ll help.
I have a Dynamics 365 Sales Professional licence – what does that mean for me?
Nothing! Your price won’t change
Is the Business Central price rising?
No, your price remains the same
