Does a New CRM Cause Disruption?

Are you worried about the amount of disruption caused by changing systems?

Changing systems is painful, but it’s necessary if you want to grow and streamline your business

When considering a new CRM system, you may worry about the level of disruption caused by changing systems.

Now, this is a natural reaction when you change a core system, which may include moving away from familiar databases or spreadsheets that you have previously used in your business and transferring them to a CRM. The people in your business have their ways of working, and they have been accustomed to these systems for some time; you’re worried that the impact on their daily work and on your business might be detrimental.

The truth is that you cannot get a new system in place without disruption. It’s not possible.

However, compare this process to moving premises. You can plan ahead for as many details and setbacks as you can imagine. But at the end of the day, you will still have to move a load of boxes from your old premises to your new premises, and put things back in order. There is always some disruption.

When changing business systems, successful projects minimise that disruption through careful planning, gathering of requirements and execution of the implementation plan. To make sure that your users are supported throughout the process, they should trained on how to use the system and understand why the system is being changed in the first place. You will want to work with a provider who makes sure that your needs are met throughout the process. That means you’ll have a system change geared around how you need to operate, with good project and change management principles in place.

Minimise any potential disruption by making sure that the change process is carefully planned out, with a fallback option in case of any problems. But if you follow these steps, you’ll have a smoother transition from your old system into your new system, and you’ll have less disruption within your business.
