Business Card Scanning Slashes Inputting Time in Dynamics 365

The new business card scanning feature in Dynamics 365 makes inputting contact data easy.

As a Microsoft Dynamics 365 Sales user, you’ll know how much time you can waste inputting contact data.

Whether that’s new leads or contacts, either way it’s time consuming and prone to errors, particularly on a mobile.

Business card scanning is now part of Microsoft Dynamics 365

Microsoft have added a business card scanning feature to Dynamics 365 Sales. The new features cuts inputting times drastically.

The best news is that it’s simple:

How to Scan a Business Card into Microsoft Dynamics 365 Sales

The first time you do this, make sure you have the Common Data Service user role assigned (ask your system administrator about this)

If you’re using Microsoft Dynamics 365 Sales on a desktop

On the Quick Create form of a Contact or Lead, select Scan Business Card.

You’ll need to have scanned or photographed the business card

Browse to the where you saved the business card and then select Insert.

If you’re using Microsoft Dynamics 365 Sales on a mobile

On the Quick Create form of a Contact or Lead, select Scan Business Card.

Use your phone’s camera to capture the business card.

Dynamics recognises the text and adds it to the contact record.

Then check the information and select Save

That’s all!
