We’d like to welcome our latest client, The Flood Company. The Flood Company are an Elland based flood defence specialist, offering a range of flood defence products available in a range of styles and designs to suit any property or installation requirement. They work with many industry-leading organisations across the country to deliver the very best flood defence products.
The company was established in 2011 and is run by father and son team Tony and Luke Ruddiman.
The company’s projects have included working with Sovereign, one of the largest housing associations in the country, and Bam Nuttall, a leading edge supplier of civil engineering services.
One of their recent local projects was to install flood barriers at the Hebden Bridge Picture House following its recovery from the 2015 Boxing Day floods. The 90 year old picture house was forced to close for 6 months due to the flooding. After a 6 month restoration, it reopened its doors last Summer and has since worked with The Flood Company to install their Hydroshield Pro Flood Barriers.
In recent years the company has gone from strength to strength, receiving recognition for its innovative design of a rodent and water defence valve. In 2016 the company won the Innovation Award for their Water and Rodent Non-Return (WAR) valve at the highly respected Examiner Business Awards. This same valve was also shortlisted as a finalist in the national Travis Perkins Innovation Awards 2016.
As an established and well respected company in their market, The Flood company have built a successful and well run business with a committed team that are now ready for their next stage of growth. As part of this growth, the company have recently moved in to a new premises at Riverside Mills in Elland to accommodate their expansion plans. Meanwhile Managing Director, Luke Ruddiman has his eyes set on also improving their business systems.
